ULTEM® 2300 PEI (30% GLASS FILLED POLYETHERIMIDE)
Material Information
Ultem® PEI is a high performance polymer that is transparent amber in color. Ultem® PEI in general is high in strength and rigidity at elevated temperatures with long-term heat resistance. It is inherently flame resistant and low in smoke production. It also offers excellent dimensional stability, excellent electrical insulating properties, and a broad chemical resistance. It is easily machined and finished. This makes it ideal for use in medical reusable application where repeated sterilization is required.
Ultem® 2300 is a 30% glass reinforced grade of Ultem® PEI, and is the most common filled Ultem® grade. It provides even greater rigidity and dimensional stability than Ultem® 1000, while still providing the unfilled grades useful characteristics. The glass reinforcement provides an exceptional strength to weight ratio and increased tensile strength. Ultem® 2300 is available in the form of film, sheet, and rod.
