ULTEM® 1000 PEI (UNFILLED POLYETHERIMIDE)

ULTEM® 1000 PEI (UNFILLED POLYETHERIMIDE)

Material Information

Ultem® PEI is a high performance polymer that is transparent amber in color. Ultem® PEI in general is high in strength and rigidity at elevated temperatures with long-term heat resistance. It is inherently flame resistant and low in smoke production. It also offers excellent dimensional stability, excellent electrical insulating properties, and a broad chemical resistance. It is easily machined and finished. This makes it ideal for use in medical reusable application where repeated sterilization is required.

The unfilled grade of Ultem® PEI is called Ultem® 1000. Ultem® 1000 excels in hot air and water environments because it is very hydrolytically stable. It is also UV and gamma radiation resistant. Ultem® 1000 is available in the form of film, sheet, and rod.
