PVDF (POLYVINYLIDENE FLUROIDE)

PVDF (POLYVINYLIDENE FLUROIDE)

Material Information

PVDF is a melt processable fluoropolymer that belongs to the fluorocarbon family of thermoplastics. It is stiffer and resists creep and wear better than PTFE, FEP, and PFA but its chemical resistance, antistick properties, lubricacy, electrical properties, and useful temperature range (-80º F to 300º F) are not as good. However, it’s chemical and corrosion resistance is still good enough to be an excellent option for chemical processing and corrosion resistant applications. It is easily fabricated into finished parts, resistant to UV and gamma radiation, moisture resistant, non-flammable, self extinguishing, and is FDA/USDA/NSF compliant. These properties also make PVDF ideal for use in pharmaceutical and food industries as well. It is available in the form of rod and sheet.
