PPS – BEARING GRADE (POLYPHENYLENE SULFIDE)
Material Information
PPS (PolyPhenylene Sulfide) is a semi-crystalline engineering thermoplastic. It offers the broadest resistance to chemicals of any advanced engineering plastic. There are no known solvents that effect PPS under 392º F, and it is inert to steam, strong bases, fuels, and acids. It is ideal for precise tolerance machined components because it has minimal water absorption, has a very low coefficient of linear thermal expansion, and is stress relieving manufactured. PPS is also a great option for structural applications, corrosive environments, and a lower temperature replacement for PEEK. At moderate temperatures PPS offers great dimensional stability and strength.
The bearing grade of Quadrant PPS is internally lubricated, carbon fiber reinforced, and compression molded. It offers a low coefficient of thermal expansion with uncompromised chemical resistance. It is a great option for wear applications that require an electrically conductive material.
