POLYSULFONE (PSU)

POLYSULFONE (PSU)

Material Information

Polysulfone is an amorphous high performance thermoplastic that offers excellent mechanical and electrical properties, as well as chemical resistance to acidic and salt solutions. It also has good resistance to detergents. These properties remain constant over a relatively broad temperature range (-150º F to 300º F). Polysulfone is a rigid material that can operate in an autoclave environment. Its excellent hydrolysis resistance allows it to be continuously used in hot water and steam. It also has excellent radiation stability and low ionic impurity levels. All together, Polysulfone’s properties make it ideal for use in pharmaceutical and medical applications, food service equipment, semiconductor processing, and electronic equipment. It has low flammability and smoke emission and is FDA, NSF, 3A-Dairy, and USP Class VI compliant in a food grade. It is available in a transparent amber color in the form of rod and sheet.
