PEEK (POLYETHERETHERKETONE) – BEARING GRADE

PEEK (POLYETHERETHERKETONE) – BEARING GRADE

Material Information

PEEK is a high performance thermoplastic that is tough, strong, rigid, and creep resistant. It offers excellent thermal, chemical, and hydrolysis resistance as well as excellent resistance to abrasion and dynamic fatigue. Its ability to run at high continuous temperature (480º F) without permanent property loss and stable electrical properties makes PEEK a good alternative to fluoropolymers in hostile environments. PEEK has also been shown to exhibit very low smoke and toxic gas emission when exposed to flame. PEEK is available in unfilled, 30% glass filled, 30% carbon filled, and bearing grade (Ketron HPV).

Bearing Grade PEEK has been reinforced with carbon fibers with graphite and PTFE lubricants. It offers the lowest coefficient of friction, and the best machinability of the PEEK grades. In addition to its low coefficient of friction, it also is low wear, high limiting PV, and has low mating part wear. Bearing Grade PEEK is available in sheet or rod in a black or dark grey color.
