ERTALYTE® PET-P (POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE POLYESTER)
Material Information
Ertalyte® PET-P is an unreinforced, semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymer based on the polyethylene terephthalate (PET-P). PET-P in general is known to have the best dimensional stability, excellent wear resistance, a low coefficient of friction, high strength and rigidity, excellent stain resistance, good chemical and abrasion resistance, and resistance to moderately acidic solutions. Ertalyte® PET-P has a continuous service temperature of 210º F and also retains significantly more of its original strength than nylon or acetal up to 180º F. Because of its low moisture absorption rate, Ertalyte® PET-P’s mechanical and electrical properties are virtually unaffected by moisture. These properties combined make Ertalyte® PET-P ideal for use in the manufacture of precision mechanical parts. It is available in a natural and black color in the form of rod and plate. Both colors are FDA compliant, but only the natural color is also USDA, 3A-Dairy and Canada AG compliant.
